XD-OEM controller
The XD-OEM controller is designed as a compact solution for multiple actuators or stages.
This OEM controller can function as a standalone device or be clicked into a motherboard to control up to 16 axes. There are multiple ways to control actuators and stages with this controller, including EtherCAT.
Robust single / multi axis controller
The XD-OEM can be used in multi-axis setups using EtherCAT

Low power consumption
Xeryon's OEM controllers are also a highly energy efficient solution for controlling our actuators and stages as they consume very liittle power.
For reference, an entire motherboard with 16 OEM controllers + 16 EtherCAT interfaces (see the last picture) consumes just 28 W at 48 V on standby.
This makes the OEM controller very complementary with our actuators and stages, which are also highy efficient. Our actuators consume very little energy and dissipate very little heat. One of the reasons for this is that they are self-locking, meaning they require no energy to hold the desired position (motor is shut off when desired position is reached).
It is commonly believed that piezo technology requires high voltage operation. While that is true for traditional systems (such as stick-slip and walking piezo), Xeryon's ultrasonic piezo motors are driven by low voltage signals.
EtherCAT
The Xeryon OEM controller allows for easy EtherCAT communication of Xeryon products with a resolution of up to 78 nm / 3 µrad.
Communicating over EtherCAT results in a fast response time. Xeryon offers 4- and 16-axis motherboards (see photos below) for controlling multiple actuators or stages simultaneously. Each individual OEM controller is clicked into the motherboard by means of a small EtherCAT piggyback PCB.
The motherboards themselves can be daisy chained for controlling an infinite number of axes.
For example, if you would like to control 12 actuators simultaneously using EtherCAT, you would need 12 OEM controllers, 12 EtherCAT piggyback modules, and a 16-axis motherboard (or three 4-axis motherboards). Xeryon provides everything needed for such multi-axis EtherCAT setups.
Motherboards in configurations other than 4- or 16-axis can also be made, but are currently not a stock product.
