Introducing:
Integrated controller
for XLA-series actuators
We’re excited to introduce a major upgrade for our XLA micro linear actuators: A new integrated controller built directly into the actuator housing.
This compact all-in-one design removes the need for external controllers, saves space, adds CANopen compatibility, boosts performance, and makes integration effortless.
Launching first on the 5 N model (XLA-5), the integrated controller will also be available on the 10 N model (XLA-10) from late 2025.

Compact and clean integration
Smaller footprint → saves design space
No external controller → simpler system
Less cable clutter → cleaner setup
Smaller footprints lead to more compact, market-ready designs. By removing the external XD-OEM controller and unnecessary cabling, system complexity is reduced and assembly becomes easier. Perfect for high-density or space-constrained environments.
Superior performance
With CANopen built in and a newly optimized PCB, the XLA delivers:
Increased performance → faster, more precise motion
Precise trajectory control → smooth, reliable movements
Synchronized multi-axis motion → coordinated across axes
Low latency → responsive real-time control
Quieter operation → ideal for noise-sensitive setups
The integrated controller uses CANopen, a trusted industrial communication protocol, ensuring seamless compatibility with existing systems. It also improves performance, simplifies multi-axis coordination, and makes integration into complex environments straightforward and future-ready.

Communication follows the CiA® 402 device profile for drives and motion control.

Simplified system architecture
Single cable for power & data → quicker, tidier integration
Easier integration → speeds up development
Daisy-chain up to 4 devices → simplifies multi-unit setups
Our decentralized control approach keeps system design clean and efficient. With just one cable handling both power and communication, installation is simplified and wiring is minimized. Daisy-chain up to four actuators for easy, scalable multi-axis setups.
While all communication is natively handled via CANopen, the system can be accessed using USB, serial, or industrial fieldbus protocols using standard converters. This allows flexible integration into existing infrastructures.
